Observe huge crocodiles resting under the sun, monkeys moving quickly in the trees, and diverse bird species such as the Anhinga (Snake Bird), Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks, the endangered and rare Jabiru (largest bird in Central America), Blue Herons, White Ibis, and more.

Recommended tour for those who want to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. Palo Verde comprises dry forest, wetland and mangrove swamp, which is a perfect habitat for crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas, parrots and other exotic birds. The boat boards at a location called Ballena Port on the Tempisque River, which is the nearest access to the park and then a 2 hour boat tour.
